  • List down the typical roles of graphic designers mentioned in the videos.

  • Which part of the role that you’re most interested in? Which one that you’re already aware of, and which one is new?

 

Typical roles of graphic designers

  • Using creative thinking to not only broaden ideation, but also understanding the subject’s challenges and outcomes. Understanding the function of a product, making designs which has a message in each creative choice in said design


  • Becoming business savvy, managing clients professionally to fulfill a client’s expectation. When you manage a business well as a designer, it builds trust with a client, being able to have a returning client.


  • Having knowledge in arts, both hand on and digital skills, In addition, knowledge about history. Keeping up with updates on a softwares to keep improving as a designer. Also knowing printing processes and production methods.


Which part of the role that you’re most interested in? Which one that you’re already aware of, and which one is new?


  • Most interested in: Being a good business person, for I am aware how difficult it is to make art as a life-time job. Being a good designer isn’t always enough. Knowing the ins and outs of graphic design business and it’s value will help build a brighter future.


  • Already aware of: Being a problem solver, having diverse knowledge in designing.


  • New: Being a good business person and knowing the connection of historical/contemporary aspect in an design.
