Daan is a product designer who uses technology to innovate products that supports the environment.

Sonja is a fashion designer who combines fashion with science.
She creates clothing out of micro-cosmos from our skin
Cecilia and Klasien are members of the Lava Lab whom help companies create a social media platform that is more engaging towards millenials.
4. What’s happening now, is the design practices that they do still relevant?
Smart Sponge. A sponge which helps absorbing oil even under water. Mainly used for oil spills in the ocean because it doesn’t harm the marine life.
5. What's the relation or the interrelation between the historic (past) and the contemporary practices (current) with each designer practices?
The major impact the development technology has brought is how currently references, techniques and exploration in general is more broad. Designers now more than anything relies on technology as their main base of media.
Historically, people are only limited to manual medias such as print screens, paints and so on. Designers could only get their research from books since technology was not created just yet. However, by its essence, designers still need a certain source to study the references they need when exploring their creativity. Creative innovation and conceptualizing still remains the same.
